Geschichte

Oriens wurde im Jahr 2007 gegründet. Der Kern des Gründungsteams, Krisztián Orbán, Flóra Macher und Zsuzsa Delikát, arbeitet seither zusammen. In den ersten Jahren konnten wir uns auf die unermessliche Unterstützung von Botschafter George Herbert Walker verlassen, ohne den es heute kein Oriens geben würde. Wir hatten auch das Privileg, auf die finanzielle und moralische Unterstützung von Peter Holtzer und die Beratung von John C. Whitehead zählen zu können.

Seit 2010 erwirbt Oriens mittelständische Unternehmen in der Tschechischen Republik, der Slowakei und Ungarn und wandelt sie zu erfolgreichen Großunternehmen. Wir haben diese Unternehmen über den Wendepunkt zwischen einer persönlich geführten und einer institutionalisierten Organisation gehoben. Auf diese Weise haben wir Engpässe in den Unternehmen beseitigt und ihnen ein schnelles Wachstum ermöglicht.

Derzeit besitzen wir neun Unternehmen, die alle deutlich größer sind als bei der Übernahme. Wir sind auch stolz darauf, dass alle ursprünglichen Eigentümer mit der Entwicklung ihres ehemaligen Unternehmens zufrieden sind.

Sanborn ist ein etablierter CNC-Bearbeitungsbetrieb, der hochwertige Präzisionsteile anbietet. Sanborn liefert Komponenten für die weltweit führenden Hersteller von Generatoren und Turbinen, Energieunternehmen, Heizwerken und Herstellern von Dieselmotoren.

Transsystem ist ein führender polnischer Anbieter von schlüsselfertigen automatisierten Materialflusslösungen, hauptsächlich für die Reifenherstellung und die allgemeine Intralogistik-Automatisierung. Mit seinen hochqualifizierten Mitarbeitern hat Transsystem weltweit Projekte in mehr als 50 Ländern durchgeführt.

Investitionsstrategie

Oriens erwirbt 100-prozentige Beteiligungen an Unternehmen mit starken Marktpositionen. In der Regel übernehmen wir diese Unternehmen von Eigentümern, die in den Ruhestand gehen und sicherstellen wollen, dass ihre Unternehmen eine stabile und unabhängige Zukunft haben, die auch ihre Mitarbeiter schützt. Oriens festigt die Systeme und Prozesse dieser Unternehmen und bringt sie auf einen Weg des organischen Wachstums und der Akquisition.

Kriterien für die Investition

  • Vollständige Übernahme (100%)
  • Umsatz von mindestens 10 Mio. Euro
  • EBITDA von mindestens 2 Mio. Euro bis 15 Mio. Euro

In der Vergangenheit haben wir Unternehmen sowohl unterhalb als auch oberhalb dieser Schwellenwerte erworben und werden dies auch weiterhin tun, sofern sie strategisch gut zu unseren Plänen passen.

The Oriens Summer Internship

Oriens is launching a summer internship program for Bachelor’s and Master’s students in finance, business, and economics. This short and comprehensive program offers a hands-on introduction to the role of a private equity analyst.

Over two months during the summer break, interns get to know both sides of a hands-on private equity fund: work in the HQ on fund related matters and at the portfolio companies on ownership tasks. They research new investment opportunities, work directly with portfolio companies’ management on strategic projects, build a strong understanding of the fundamentals of private markets, and engage in direct discussions with Oriens’ managing partner.

Program structure:
  • First week: onboarding at our Budapest office (accommodation provided for expats),
  • Weeks 2-8:
    • 2 days/week at either the Prague or the Budapest office, working on research tasks, taking part in knowledge building initiatives,
    • 3 days/week at one portfolio company, where the intern will be assigned to work on an ongoing strategic project.
  • Mentoring: each intern’s work will be directly managed by a senior colleague for personal advancement, alongside a biweekly meeting with the managing partner.
  • Top performers: may get an offer to the Oriens Private Equity Rotation Program (PER). The PER is an exceptional rotation program that takes analysts and later associates through every stage of the private equity job, while giving them insight into multiple industries, countries, and the full investment life cycle.
The ideal candidate:
  • Is enrolled at a leading university to a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in business, economics or finance,
  • possesses strong analytical and quantitative skills,
  • has excellent verbal and written communication skills in either:
    • English and Czech or Slovak; or
    • English and Hungarian and German,
